Jada Pinkett (Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight) makes a cameo as the vixen victim who gets offed in the beginning sequence of Scream 2. "I thought it was the movie to do," says Pinkett. "It didn't really matter that it wasn't a huge role. It's a memorable one."
"Sequels suck," said Omar Epps, who makes a cameo as Jada Pinkett's boyfriend. "I automatically like the first one better." Maybe it's because someone didn't tell him he was going to die in the beginning of the film. "If I had known [about the death] from the beginning, I wouldn't have done it," Epps said. "But I did it, and then they told me."
Paulette Patterson, the girl who won the MTV Movie Awards' "Scream 2" Contest, made an appearance as the usher passing out Scream costumes at the Rialto theatre.
Peter Deming, Scream 2's director of photography, has a cameo as the concession stand worker at the Rialto movie theatre.

Scream 2 writer Kevin Williamson makes a cameo appearance as the Current Edition talk show host who interviews Cotton Weary.
Joshua Jackson, who stars in Kevin Williamson's teen drama series Dawson's Creek (1998), makes an appearance in Randy's film class.
One of those who had to pass on the first Scream but jumped at the chance to play opposite his son in the Scream sequel was Lewis Arquette (The Horror Show, Syngenor). Like his son, David Arquette, Lewis has taken the role of a police officer but at a higher rank.
Scream 2 director Wes Craven can be seen in the hallway as one of the doctors in the hospital scene. "It was really funny," says David Arquette. "He started chassing all the nurses around. It was great to watch him indulge the actor in him."
"With my luck," Sidney says at one point in Scream about who would play her in a movie, "They'd cast Tori Spelling." Leave it to those irony-drenched Scream makers, Spelling does play Sidney in film based on the events called Stab. "It's really big of her to do it," says Neve Campbell.
During production of Scream 2, Wes Craven received countless letters begging to know if Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard were going to be in Scream 2. Although he denied of them being in the film, it didn't stop Lillard from making a quick appearance at the sorority party sequence!
Danny Elfman, one of the most sought-after composers in Hollywood, didn't make a cameo in Scream 2. But his music did. Elfman composed a six-minute piece for the Cassandra sequence in Scream 2. Apparently, Elfman always wanted to work with Wes Craven and this 'play-within-the-film' segment fit perfectly in with his time.
Titanic's David Warner makes an appearance as Sidney's drama teacher Gus Gold. The name was a tribute to Kevin Williamson's best friend, Gil Gold.
